Las Vegas in the Winter Months

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas, Las Vegas Winter

If you’re sitting in front of your computer thinking about how much better it would be if you were in Las Vegas well then you’re probably right. The truth is, it’s always the right time to go but some months are actually better than others. First off, if you’re looking to spend the least amount of money on accommodations then you should consider the summer months. With the blistering heat, hotels usually give away rooms.

During the winter, temperatures have a tendency to drop into the thirties at night but manage to hover around the upper fifties to low sixties during the day. If you’re trying to avoid the winter shoveling of snow, Las Vegas rarely gets any of it.

If you think about the time you spend inside when you’re in Las Vegas then you’ll be quick to realize that it doesn’t make a difference when you hit the tables. Climate control is a science in this desert town and you will rarely be uncomfortable while inside.

The Coolest Free Show in Las Vegas

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas, Las Vegas Entertainment, Las Vegas Shows

I think one of the coolest sites to see in Las Vegas is the Fountains at the Bellagio. It truly is mesorizing to see at night time.

These fountains, also generally called musical fountains, appear to respond to music but have been programmed beforehand. The earliest of these were played manually by a live operator, who usually controlled pumps or valves and sometimes lights by way of switches on a control panel. Music was almost always live. Later, choreography could be prerecorded on a punched paper card which was scanned by a computer; and even later, it could be recorded on magnetic tape or, in the most modern shows, on a CD along with the music. Even so, the choreography must still be painstakingly programmed by hand, some types of shows being played live from a control console and connected to a computer that records the operator’s actions for later automatic playback.

Financial Gloom Has Las Vegas Visitors Gambling Less

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas News

With just days to go until the U.S. presidential election, financial gloom hangs like a pall over visitors to Las Vegas.

Wayland Ferguson, a New Mexico resident in town for a conference, said he had no interest in gambling or splashing out during his trip.

“People need to get back to the idea of living on less than they make, not more than they make,” he said, as he stood with friends outside one of Las Vegas’ attractions, a mall modeled after the forum in ancient Rome.

“We’ve become a society that lives on credit. We need to increase our savings.”

During the good times, the gaudy neon lights of the famed Las Vegas strip fuel dreams of hitting the jackpot, and even breaking the bank at the casinos.

For Justin Pagliarulo, from Georgia, the biggest worry was his retirement fund, which is invested in financial markets through a 401(k) plan.

“I’m losing lots of money on my 401(k) right now, so that’s a big concern,” said Pagliarulo, who still found some money for a flutter in the casinos, and visit an upscale show by Cirque du Soleil.

Las Vegas’ spectacular excess lures nearly 40 million visitors a year from across the United States and beyond, who last year spent some $41.6 billion in the city.  Continued…

Be Sure to Practice Your Casino Games

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas Casinos, Las Vegas Vacations

With the availability of tutorial software you can now practice and play at home to sharpen your skills before you go to the casino. Learning to play casino games at home on the computer is fun as well as educational. You are getting the enjoyment of playing the game so it doesn’t feel like you are actually “studying” to learn the game. Most human beings are a little sensitive to criticism. Let’s face it we don’t like to be corrected and have our mistakes pointed out to us all the time. If you had someone watching over your shoulder while you played and pointed out every mistake you made you would either give up trying to learn or worse yet resort to some kind of physical violence directed at that person.

A computer takes any human emotions out of the learning processes. There is no embarrassment when the computer beeps and alerts you to a mistake you just made. It’s impersonal and you take it all in stride and carry on. Playing and practicing at home will teach you the proper strategy and help build your confidence. Once you have your mistakes down to a minimum you will be ready to play in the casino.

A Las Vegas Vacation sure can be a fun time. Especially if you know how to play the games your risking you money at. Learn to play before you play!
