Jeremy Piven hoping to get lucky in Las Vegas

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas

If luck be a lady, Jeremy Piven is looking to lock that lady down.

The “Entourage” actor, who is known for his, ahem, luck with the ladies, said that to him, luck is being with someone special.

“I think luck would translate into being in a relationship,” he said on Friday during the grand opening of Emeril Lagasse’s new spot at the Palazzo, Stadium.

Alas, the 44-year-old is single. As such, according to his metric, Piven hasn’t been all that lucky lately.

Rather than down and out, however, Piven was out and about this weekend as the apparent search for his lucky lady continued.

Las Vegas clubs get slapped for bad behavior

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas News

Even in Las Vegas, apparently, there are limits.

In July, gaming regulators slapped the Planet Hollywood casino with a $500,000 fine for its Prive nightclub’s bad behavior, including “topless and lewd activity” and dumping club-goers in the casino “in various states of consciousness.”

The same month, the Rio closed its Sapphire topless pool, managed by a local gentleman’s club, after authorities arrested 10 people on suspicion of prostitution and drug crimes. Over Labor Day weekend, eight more arrests on similar charges were made at the Hard Rock Hotel’s pool club, Rehab.

Desert showdown: the Vegas Mate app vs. Frommer’s paper guide

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas Vacation

A number of weeks ago we went on a vacation to Las Vegas, and I was curious to see if an app can replace a traditional tour book. I picked the most respected tour book I knew, Frommer’s Las Vegas 2009 by Mary Herczog; and an iPhone/iPod touch app called Vegas Mate [iTunes Link] which trucks on years of experience and data from an established Las Vegas review site.

Paula Abdul Working Out New Las Vegas Show

Author: nick21 - Categories: Las Vegas Shows - Tags:

What happens in Vegas will soon be Paula Abdul.

The former American Idol judge is working out the kinks for her own show in Las Vegas, she tells Access Hollywood.

“That will be more… really announced later, when everything’s worked [out],” she says. “It’s going to happen, but the details have yet to be ironed out.”

Though Abdul stayed mum on the details, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the singer has been in discussions with The Venetian, the Wynn Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Hilton for a song-and-dance spectacle.

Abdul, who recently signed on to host VH1 Divas, has been sought by the Strip before. Three years ago, she was in talks with the Silverton Hotel before plans fell through.

If Sin City doesn’t keep her busy, Abdul will have plenty of gigs to fall back on. Her two-episode spot on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva has been expanded to a recurring role and she says an offer from Nigel Lythgoe is still on the table to guest-judge So You Think You Can Dance.

“It’s beyond satisfying,” Abdul says. “Everything feels just warm and it feels great and like I’m doing the right thing.”

What do you think? Would you pay to see Paula in Sin City?
